The Year in Fic Meme: 2009 edition!

favorite story this year (of my own): I'm really chuffed that I actually did finish the Unholyverse, and even managed a couple of coda thingies as well, and people seemed to like them. Uhhh secretly though probably the stupid MCR/AI8 high school LARPing crossover. Not the ficlet so much as the entire universe which exists in my head. You can expect more of that, I am not at all sorry to tell you. Crossovers that involve Gerard and Adam are totally my happy place right now.

most popular story this year, in my opinion: Heaven Help Us, hands down.

most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion: LOL no. I'm always amazed anybody reads my inane ramblings.

most fun story: To write, probably Mixed Bathing at Home - better known as 'Gerard's toe is stuck in the faucet'. I am currently writing a sequel which is just as pointless and fluffy as the original, if not more so. Whee!

sexiest story: Size Queen, probably.

"holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story: Adam Lambert/Robert Pattinson foot fetish porn \o/

story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: I'm not sure that happened this year. Oh, maybe writing John Mayer into Apples are Not the Only Fruit. Now I want all of the John Mayer/Pete Wentz beffies fic in the world, which I didn't before.

hardest story to write: Oh my God, Heaven Help Us. I invented a bunch of pressure in my own head and gave myself performance anxiety. Ridiculous, I know.

biggest disappointment: As Mine See It. It's okay, it's just...formulaic and blah. It didn't come out like it was in my head. Ah, well.

biggest surprise: Anything involving Adam Lambert. Actually the stupid ficlets aren't so much of a surprise but the fruit fic was more of one. Apparently I did have a long story to tell from...Kris Allen's POV. Okay!

most telling story: Ahaha. Either...the Kradam ficlets, which shows you how much I love a good bit of forbidden love, or Turning Point, which tells you how all I want to write nowadays for OTP is established relationship fluff /o\

overall: Only two actual ~stories this year, mostly little ficlets and snippets and crackfics and things. It would have been three if Adam and Drake hadn't broken up and Jossed the one I was writing at the time, sigh.

I did a lot more betaing and cheerleading this year though, which I really enjoyed, and I had two fandoms to think about instead of just one, which is new for me because I've been monofannish for years.

Now I am going to add an extra question onto this because I can:

ambitions for next year: I'd like to write a Bradam story in Idol fandom, but other than that I don't really have any. Maybe try to co-write something without being a total failure at it. Continue to keep the No More Plot resolution I made after Unholyverse was finished. Get better at answering comments /o\. I've really enjoyed the mini-renaissance MCR fic seems to have enjoyed - on my flist anyway - recently, and I look forward to it livening up even more (I hope!) with the release of the new album :D And seeing what Adam Does Next, of course. ♥!

For yuletide I had the sweetest little slice of Brothers and Sisters Kevin/Scotty IMAGINABLE, oh man.

Where We Are by a MAGICAL ANONYMOUS UNICORN. I love it so much, it is so sleepy and snuggly and THEY ARE SO IN LOVE AND I LOVE THEM SO MUCH and it was such a lovely story to recieve, yaaaaay!

I am pissed off at my mum.
Very pissed off.

I could be out right now, you know, eating a christmas meal with a group of friends that I've finally been accepted in as more than 'Rachael's tag along' but of course, I said no, because it's my mum's birthday. Etc etc. Being the noble daughter.

And what does she go and do? Fucking decide that she's going out at quarter to 9 to spend the night with her 'boyfriend' and tell me this fucking ten minutes before the meal starts and after I've had a shower and everything - meaning I can't go anyway.

For fuck's sake. I'm gonna be stuck indoors on my own now after a truly shit day.

*Sigh*
Fml. Fuck it with a major big stick and no lube.

I found out today that one of our regulars at work (as in, he came in for his lunch every day bar sunday) died on Monday.

This has made me very sad.
